1917 Chicago White Sox & Cubs Store Display Piece w/ Joe Jackson
This rare two-paneled advertising cardboard store display / broadside pictures the 1917 Chicago National and American League squads -- with each member of each team wearing his "original and genuine Mackinaw" jacket, and the two teams are shown in separate black-and-white photos, individually captioned, "The Cubs or The White Sox taken in their Patrick-Duluth Mackinaws at Chicago, April 1917”.
The 1917 World Champion White Sox team includes Joe Jackson, Eddie Collins, Eddie Cicotte, Buck Weaver, Lefty Williams, Chick Gandil, Swede Risberg, Hap Felsch, Kid Gleason and Ray Schalk, etc. When fully opened for display, the piece measures 15-1/2 x 36 inches. There is some professional restoration on the vertical centerfold area, along with the upper left and upper right quadrants, and there are a few faint stains on the display piece. Overall the presentation quality is Excellent, and as of now, this is the only known example of this remarkable display piece to surface.
