This rare baseball PCL photo features Buck Weaver of the San Francisco Seals, it is from 1912, and it measures 4-1/4 x 7-1/2 inches. The photo was taken by the photographer, Estey in SF, and the 1st date of issue is handwritten April 1912, then it was used again in June of 1919. Weaver is most known for being one of the members of the “Black Sox” scandal from the 1919 World Series. This photo has great contrast & clarity, there is some minor creasing, along with some pinholes in the borders, and there is some printer’s ink used for cropping & enhancement. This is by far the earliest Buck Weaver to surface, and it is among the best 1st generation images of Weaver to surface as well.
